When an ambulance is needed

By Marriott , April 18 2018

We hope we never need to ring an ambulance for you or your loved one while you are on one of our sites.

We know it can be frightening to be unwell and to need an ambulance. Being surrounded by strangers, even strangers that are kind and trying to help, like ambulance officers, can be upsetting and our minds can go blank.

But in the event an ambulance is needed we won’t hesitate to call one and if that happens a member of staff who knows you will go with you in the ambulance, until a family member or carer can be with you.

Our staff play a crucial role in reassuring you when you are with ambulance and medical staff because we know it can be scary. Our staff will assist both the health workers to communicate with you and you to communicate with them so that you get the best treatment.

Our Board has made the decision to continue to provide a staff person to accompany you, if you wish to have a staff person with you, while in an ambulance.

We will cover the costs of sending staff with you and taxi fares to return them to work.

We are committed to providing the best quality support. We understand you and how stressful a trip in an ambulance is for you and your family or carers.
