Community inclusion – we organised our trip to Mordialloc
A group from Roads to Independence (RTI) caught the train to Mordialloc.
The weather was perfect.
We had fish and chips in the rotunda at Mordialloc beach. Yum!
Then a group of us walked along the pier, which was a really nice walk. We saw lots of rocks and seaweed and people fishing. Michael even saw a starfish!
Some of us practiced our ball skills on the footpath.
Emma enjoyed looking at the water and seeing all the boats.
We walked back to the station and caught the train back to RTI in Moorabbin.
It was exciting to organise the outing all on our own.

Support to build capacity with the NDIS
The NDIS allows for small groups to build their capacity for community inclusion, for example to organise public transport to get out in the community and beyond, to interact and make decisions with peers and later write a post about it. At Marriott we don’t do it all we support people to organise themselves, to learn and build their capacity.
