Stuck on You Launch

By Jennifer Lumsden, May 31 2018

We are excited to launch the Stuck on You Art project.

There is a hive of artistic energy among local artists as they prepare for the ‘Stuck on You’ art project.

Join us for the  Launch of the Stuck on You next Wednesday 6th June, 6pm at Marriott Community Hub, 100 Wheatley Road, McKinnon.

Stuck on You highlights community connections using art and as our local businesses are an important part of our community the art will reflect local businesses.
The artists working on the project include those from Marriott Community and Glen Eira Artists’ Society.
Artwork will be displayed in the windows of 20 McKinnon Road businesses with the original works exhibited at Marriott Community Hub on Wheatley Road.
There is the bakery, dentist, florist, pharmacy, beauty salon, party shop, dog groomers, several cafes, digital conversion and more.
Marriott Community hub artists started with visiting the local businesses taking photos for inspiration as they went about their art.
One Marriott artist, Andrew said ‘I like having to paint something different, I chose the chicken shop, because it’s popular.’
Another Marriott artist, Marc said, ‘I enjoy the art program because it is peaceful I can do art that I want to. I chose the Polka Dot party shop because it’s about kids and the window is very colourful.’
You will have the chance to vote for people’s favourite artwork so be a part of your community and take a look at Stuck on You.
