What we discovered at Marvel Stadium
A group of sports mad friends from Roads to Independence travelled to Marvel Stadium.
On Tuesday 12th February we took the train to Southern Cross station to take a tour of the newly named Marvel Stadium.
We met our tour guide named Ken who had worked there for 15 years. He showed us the corporate boxes and told us that it costs around $4500 to rent them for one game. We got to sit in the seats where the commentators call the cricket games from.
We got to see the change rooms and shown where the AFL tribunal takes place. The players and coaches also do their interviews there.
The Stadium provides a natural turf playing surface with a total area of 19,000m2.
The retractable roof is the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere and can open or close in 8 minutes. https://marvelstadium.com.au/
We learnt a lot from this tour and about how much effort it takes to run the stadium. After the tour we were able to buy our tickets for the Formula One Grand Prix event in March. We are sports mad..
We had some time to walk around the city before catching the train back to Roads to Independence. We enjoy planning our trips and pulling it off.
