Give a shout out to staff making a difference…

Dave Fraser joined Marriott Support Services 11 years ago and brought with him loads of experience in the horticulture industry and specialty skills in turf management, particularly golf courses and sporting grounds.

As Operations Manager for EMS, Dave focuses on managing resources to deliver quality and safety on all projects. Projects include ground maintenance, landscaping, environmental works (bushland management), broad-acre and specialist mowing and weed control on medium and large projects like the Level Crossing Removal Authority, Department of Human Services, and water companies.

He gets a buzz supporting people to reach their employment goals using his experience to get the best out of people in his team, which includes over 20 people with disability in supported employment.

Dave has many highlights to reflect upon in his work. One is a young man who was somewhat withdrawn and lacked confidence when he started as a supported employee. Dave watched him grow in confidence and this was reflected in the quality of his work, interaction with his peers and an increasing sense of responsibility as an employee.  The icing on the cake was seeing the young man get his driver’s licence.

This is a common story and one that exemplifies what keeps Dave at EMS.

For Dave working at EMS is ‘the best thing, seeing people work towards and reach their employment goals and become confident not just at work but it spills over to other areas of their lives.’

Dave loves the Saints and dearly hopes they can pull off a better result this year.
