Empowering people with disability to shop

By Jennifer Lumsden, April 3 2019

Zoe, Angus, Kim and Wells write about their trip to Southland.

We were all are very excited to go to Southland as everyone had something to get from there. We started our journey from Moorabbin station and got off at Southland Shopping Centre, it was easy.

We reach the shopping mall and wandered around at first. We all enjoyed window shopping at the beginning. We have our morning tea in the shopping mall.

Angus want to go to the AFL store. Wells planned to get something from JB Hi-Fi and Kim and Zoe went to go to reject shop to buy something.

First we all went to JB-Hi Fi. Wells and Angus were excited. Kim visited the reject shop from where she bought Easter bunny chocolates for her niece. Then we headed towards the AFL store.

Zoe purchased a Sydney Swans bear. She has done the money transaction by herself at the counter. She took the change and counted it, it was all there. Wells purchased a St. Kilda water bottle. Angus bought a St. Kilda lunch box. Kim a pen and bag of West Coast. We all are so happy and we are showing each other the gifts we purchased.

Then we had our lunch at the food court. We then went to EB games where Angus bought games.

We all were happy and shared our experiences as we returned to Roads to Independence (RTI). https://www.marriott.org.au/building-independence/
