Building Independence / Community Hub / Families/Carers / NDIS
Marriott creates opportunity for disability staff to develop skills.
Having the right people in the right roles is critical to the delivery of quality services, and Marriott Support Services is committed to developing people across the organisation. Marriott’s Volunteer Co-ordinator, Erica reflects on her role last year in the NDIS Engagement team.
I saw resilience in participants, supported employees and families in navigating the NDIS transition. I was honoured and humbled to play a small part in providing support and helping to lessen stress for families on this journey.
The experience gave me hope to see positive outcomes for people when a plan provides new and additional supports allowing an individual to develop independence and increase their community engagement.
I noticed earnest, heartfelt and energetic dedication from the Marriott NDIS team in working together with individuals and their families for the very best outcome for their son or daughter.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work with participants, supported employees, families, carers and the NDIS Engagement team.
Where are we up to with NDIS Transition?
Marriott has invested significantly in supporting people and their families to get the best possible NDIS plans, because we know preparation is the single most important indicator of a good outcome. So far, the NDIS Transition team has supported 186 people and 55 people are currently supported by our Support Co-ordination team.
