Celebrating 10 years of volunteering with us – Pam

By Erica Proposch, May 18 2020

“Wow Wee – Pam is celebrating 10 years of volunteer service with Marriott.”

This year we were delighted to nominate Pam to receive a volunteer recognition award at the City of Glen Eira for National Volunteer Week. She volunteers with a smile and a sense of fun.

Pam has been involved with Marriott Support Services as an active and contributing volunteer, helping extend individuals independence in a variety of activities, more recently gardening.  She brings an enormous wealth of energy, good humour and fun to her volunteer role. Pam readily sees everyone has something to give and we are all individuals with different talents and abilities.

Pam comes alongside people with an intellectual disability to support and empower. Pam talks about gaining as much as she gives in her volunteer role. She doesn’t see people with disability as needing help – but by coming alongside a person together we can achieve more. This is the attitude she brings to her volunteer role.

Pam always considers how she can add more to an activity for an individual with regards to resources or equipment. Pam brings a wonderful community connection in joining us as a volunteer – enriching relationship, conversation and experience.

Thank you, Pam – we have grateful hearts.
