Stephen Creese
Director since 2017 and Chairman since 2018

Stephen had a 33 year career in the resources sector in roles covering government relations, media, company secretarial, community affairs, legal and governance. Stephen was also the inaugural independent chair of the National Employment Services Association. He is presently on the advisory board to the Office of Development Effectiveness within the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is a Senior Fellow of Melbourne Law School. He is chair of the Advisory Board to Melbourne University Archives and is a director of the Astra Chamber Music Society Inc.

Graham Ashworth
Directors since 2013

Graham is an experienced legal professional with a breadth of skills in corporations law, company secretarial practice, administrative law, banking and financial services. Graham worked as General Counsel and Company Secretary in the mutual banking sector for a number of years and prior to that in senior roles with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and Victoria Police. Graham’s experience includes major project management, information systems, organisational development and restructuring and major business planning. Graham currently runs his own legal practice and has qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), an MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice.

Nicholas Woodlock
Director since 2019

Nicholas has over 40 years’ experience across the Community & Health sectors including working within the NDIS framework, developing mental health planning and transitioning for clients with psychosocial needs. Nicholas has a Master of Public Administration and built Australia’s largest independent case management agency (Care Connect) to support people with complex care needs to live independently in their own home. Nicholas has experience with leading organisations across Australia and internationally and experience working within governance frameworks and standards at both board and executive levels.

Thomas Hatvani
Director since 2016

Thomas has been in the broader health and community care sectors for over 20 years. He has worked in private health insurance, acute care, disability and aged care, nursing, mental health services, as well as in the pharmaceutical sector and with the Victorian Government. Organisations where he has worked previously include Medibank Health Solutions, The Alfred Hospital and Australian Home Care Services. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and a Master of International Business.

Ken Latchford
Director since 2016 and Treasurer since 2018

Ken has many years of experience as a finance and management professional with particular skills in treasury, accounting, risk management, corporate governance and strategy. His industry experience covers retail, wholesale and distribution, rail and logistics, labour services and the not for profit sector. Ken is former Director and Treasurer of Kids Under Cover and former Director of Harness Racing Victoria. Ken has a Commerce Degree and MBA from University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

Linda Bennett
Director since 2016

Linda re-joined board as a Director of Marriott Services in 2016 having previously served as a director from 2000 to 2007. Her past board experience included involvement in the purchase of the current factory site of Marriott Industries and creating a board governance framework. Linda is a parent of Matt, a supported employee at Marriott Industries. Linda has over 35 years’ experience working in the Commonwealth public service including as Deputy State Manager of Medicare Victoria and then as a National Manager in the provision of customer service to health service providers at the Department of Human Services.

Mark Bennetts
Director since 2017

Mark is the CEO of the Mt Buller & Mt Stirling resorts, having previously developed and managed six RACV resorts with 600 staff across Victoria and Tasmania. Mark’s career includes over 30 years of management experience in various roles across the hospitality, membership, energy, property development and retail sectors. Mark has a nephew at Marriott Community.

Catherine McGovern
Director since 2018

Catherine has over 25 years of experience working in the private sector, for government and in consulting. Catherine held various senior roles in government relations including with GlaxoSmithKline both in Australia and the United Kingdom and with Medibank. Currently, Catherine is Principal at Evaluate, an economics consulting company delivering policy and strategy in a range of sectors including health, education, community services, ageing, disability and justice services. Catherine is a Member of Medicines Australia Advisory Council and a past Board Member of Melbourne City Mission and Victoria Legal Aid.

Ann-Maree Colborne
Chief Executive Officer

Ann-Maree has extensive leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector having held CEO and senior executive positions with Uniting, Lentara Uniting Care, Yooralla, Red Cross, Arthritis Victoria and other not-for-profits. Ann-Maree has a Master of Business, a Graduate Diploma in Business, nursing qualifications and a Bachelor of Science.

Malcolm Shimmins
General Manager

Malcolm specialises in solution delivery and is highly regarded in the areas of strategic planning, business development and growth, operations, client relationship management, contract management and procurement.

Malcolm has a complete “end to end” service delivery skill set, based on his extensive experience with market leading commercial and “profit for purpose” organisations.

Lindsay Smith
Senior Manager, Marriott Industries

Lindsay joined Marriott Industries in 2012 having worked previously with Monash University developing bookshops and student services, and with John Wiley publishers in business development

With a Masters of Management degree, Lindsay has a successful track record of profitable business management.

Lindsay is results-driven, with cross functional expertise in business development. 
It is important for Lindsay to achieve positive results for the benefit of Marriott Support Services, that then turn in to positive results for others.

David Roberts
Acting Senior Manager, Disability Services

David has over 15 years’ experience in management in manufacturing, logistics, product development, and more recently disability services. David has successfully implemented significant projects, including world-first manufacturing cells and has delivered new products and ideas to market.

David has a Bachelor of Business degree from the Swinburne University of Technology. David supported Marriott in transitioning to the NDIS and has led our growing Support Coordination Team.
