Australia Post supports local disability service, Marriott Support Services

By Jennifer Lumsden, August 7 2019

It started with a phone call from David, the Facility Manager at Australia Post warehouse in Oakleigh, where he explained that his team of 300 staff wanted to support a local charity.

We were delighted to be included.

A raffle with attractive prizes including a voucher from Crown, two nights accommodation and flights to Brisbane, helicopter ride, gift cards and my favourite ‘Roar and Snore’ sleepover at the zoo.

Over the next 2 months, Marriott staff and community joined with Australia Post to sell as many tickets as possible.

Last Friday, the Australia Post team gathered with Marriott staff and participants Alex and Michael, to draw the raffle and revealed the surprise amount of $4,429.00 raised.
Alex expressed her excitement that we all felt, and she was thrilled to draw out the winners.
There was a lovely, warm and connected vibe in the room with an air of excitement.
We met Sunny, who delivers to our Keys Road site and was lucky to win the sleepover at the Zoo.
Fabulous effort and thank you to Australia Post and to all who sold and bought tickets.

Marriott has been in the local community for 44 years providing quality support for people with disability to lead healthy, connected and independent lives in a community that is inclusive of all people. We are always keen to connect with local businesses and organisations.
