A farewell and shout out of thanks to Dave Fraser

By Jennifer Lumsden, April 23 2020

Dave joined Marriott Support Services 12 years ago, with loads of experience in the horticulture industry and specialist skills in turf management, particularly golf courses and sporting grounds, and is now moving into a commercial role.

Dave says, ‘12 years – where did that go? When I started I was a young, handsome man, what happened?’

As Operations Manager at Enviro Management Services (EMS), Dave focused on managing projects including ground maintenance, landscaping, bushland management, specialist mowing and weed control. EMS works with medium and large companies, for example, the Level Crossing Removal Authority, Department of Health and Human Services, Melbourne Water and South East Water and local councils.

Dave gets a buzz from supporting people to reach their employment goals, to get the best out of people in his team, which includes over 24 people with disability integrated into operational teams.

Working in the disability sector has opened my eyes; Marriott does a terrific job to secure meaningful work for people with disability,’ Dave says.

Dave’s many highlights include securing repeat contacts with government agencies like the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Melbourne Water and South East Water.

For Dave the human stories that unfold at EMS are ‘the best thing, seeing people work towards and reach their employment goals and become confident, not just at work but the confidence spills over to other areas of the individual’s life.’

I thank Marriott for giving me this wonderful opportunity; it has been extremely satisfying. I am moving into a mainstream commercial role, but I will continue to promote the good work of Marriott.’

We remember Dave’s energy last year raising money for sick kids while pushing himself on his bike over a month, and getting very fit.

Dave, thank you for your significant contribution to Marriott Support Services. We wish you success in your new adventure. Keep cycling, making a difference and smiling!
