We want to see people with disability included and with available opportunities to be active in our local community, because we all benefit with greater social inclusion. We support people to be safe, have confidence and independence in the community with an emphasis on public transport use.
To that end one support we offer is our Road Safety Awareness program run out of our community hub in McKinnon.
The program covers road safety, how to use trains and trams, how to behaviour appropriately in public and involves weekly planned excursions on public transport with peer discussion to increase learning.
Listen to Sam, one of our Disability Educators, tell how the program gives value using the experience of Ricky.
